The Man behind The Wheel-
Career Summary and Highlights

David Scott is a second generation stock race car driver living in garland, PA who's on his way to the top of the sport. His father Jim Scott is an ARCA Series (Pre-NASCAR) and Daytona veteran and it seemed only natural that his son would follow in his footsteps. David's passion for racing and commitment to "be the best" is apparent not only in his racing performance, but in the way he lives and breathes the sport. The following is a brief summary of his racing career by the years of his involvement.

1987-1992:
David began his career entering the Cadet division at Stateline Speedway in Busti, NY in 1987. He entered the spotlight fast by winning the 20 lap Busch beer Special in his Rookie season. Throughout the '87 & '88 seasons David honed his talents for the future. He took the '89 & '90 seasons off to spend time beginning his family. In '91, David returned to the seat of his Cadet and picked up a couple more victories to show his talents were still there. The 1992 season saw the beginning of the "Slow Ride". Being edged by some of his racing buddies for being a little off the pace some of the previous year, David had the words "Slow Ride" lettered onto the back of his new ride for this season. David really came into his own that season earning 3 track championships and 5 special awards to go along with his 12 feature wins and 18 heat victories. The "Slow Ride" would stick becoming synonymous with David Scott and developed into "Slow Ride Racing".

1993-1994:
The '93 season began with a move up to the Limited late Model division and by season's end David garnered 9 feature wins. One of those victories came in the first ever 100 lap feature for that division. As a "rookie" in the class, David was not even considered a contender let alone to be the winner. This was surely a sign of things to come. David also picked up a much deserved "Rookie of the year" award at the '93 seasons end. The '94 season was one of domination for David continuing in the Limited Late Model division. He had claimed two more 100 Lap events on his way to 13 feature wins. By years end, he had claimed 3 track championships and 1 circuit championship & most notably "Driver of the Year" honors as well.

1995-1996:
In 1995, David took the big step moving up to the Super Late Model division. He continued his winning ways in his rookie season capturing 5 feature wins, including another 100 lap event. Most notably he picked up another track championship. He became the first rookie to capture a Late Model point championship at Stateline Speedway. As the 1996 season began, David took an aggressive step and began traveling with the newly formed N.E.W.S. series. Putting his driving skills to work, he placed 4th in the series points and in the process picked up 2 more feature wins.

1997:
This season was meant to be a kind of regrouping, limited run one. David and the team planned to take the season off to enable them to travel more in the upcoming '98 season. David was asked to drive a few races for another team, and not being one who could stay out of a race car ge agreed. The team had just started in the Dirt late Model division and was looking for help to sort out their car. When that team was ready to go on themselves, David and his crew dusted off his Slow Ride and finished out the season. For a season that was supposed be spent from the sidelines, the team added another points championship, 5 more feature wins along with a 50 lap special to their resume. Late in the season, David has his first taste of driving for another car owner, Tom Nuerieter & Gene Bailey. The group would prove to be sucessful in seasons to come.

1998-1999:
David, Tom, Gene, and the Slow Ride team would again take to the road following the M.A.C.S. series. David finished 2nd in the M.A.C.S. points as well as picking up quite a few feature and speciel event wins along the way. In '99, the team decided to race where they chose and not follow any particular series. This would be to gain experience on different tracks to build David's strentghs as a driver. He picked up 2 more feature wins that season.

2000-2001:
David again entered the spotlight in 2000 when he had the opportunity to drive the Dennis Chase owned Sprint Car. While David began his rookie season in a sprint, the Slow Ride crew kept up his late model program as David drove both divisions often in the same night. The busy season ended with a Lernerville points championship in the sprint car and missing the Late Model championship by 4 points*. He became the first driver to capture wins in both divisions on the same night. The 2001 season saw David add to his career win total by picking up 9 more feature wins to the growing list.

*- A little note on the 2000 season late Model points at Lernerville: Heading into the last points night, David held a slight lead over one of his competitors. In the opening laps, both drivers were involved with an accident ahead of them that neither could avoid. The incident resulted in the competitor getting a flat tire and heading to the pits. The Slow Ride team went to help change the tire so the driver could return and not lose a lap, and let him race for the championship. Unfortunately for David, his car suffered a rare mechanical failure a couple laps later and was unable to finish the feature. His competitor finished and won the championship by 4 points. This shows the dedication and sportsmanship of the Slow Ride team. By helping the other driver, they risked losing the championship and they did. But, ask any team member and they will tell you they wouldn't have it any other way and would gladly do it again if necessary.

2002-2003:
After losing "Big Tom" Nuerieter, David was back on his own as he expanded his travels and learned some new tracks. In 2002, David ran a limited M.A.C.S. schedule and finished 10th in the points standings. 2003 saw Slow Ride claiming another track championship and a 2nd place finish in the U.L.M.S standings along with 6 feature wins for the year.

2004:
The 2004 season would prove to be a busy and trying year for the Slow Ride team. Winning races was the focus and the season started off strong with 5 feature wins in the first 10 races they entered including 2 heat race wins, 1 fat time qualifier and 1 dash victory. The plan to pick up wins was working well as the team had early success, but by the end of August the team had experienced hard times with two unexpected engine failures and a flip which resulted in significant damage to the team's favorite car. The team took a few weeks off to regroup and see what they could put together to get their second car ready for the end of the season shows. David pulled off another victory as well as another dash win by season's end. Perserverance paid off as the season ended with 6 total feature wins, 2 dash wins, and 3 fast times to go along with 32 top 10 finishes in 42 races run. David also placed in the Top 10 year end standings in 5 different series championships.

2005-2006:
2005 was a season of change. With his own equipment getting well run the previous year, David was approached by Rick Peterman who was himself an experienced racer. Rick recognized David's talents and the strenghts of the Slow Ride team and presented David with the opportunity to drive for him. Rick had established a strong stable of equipment and this joint venture turned out to be very strong for both David & Rick. The season ending results showed the proof with 6 feature wins, 3 Top 5 series points positions, and 1 dash victory. In 2006, they added 8 more feature wins with an unprecidented 5 wins at Little Valley where he also took home another track championship. David also had a heat and dash win at a World of Outlaws race at Sharon Speedway.

2007:
A new season of both strenght and change for David. The season started off with a feature win at the U.L.M.S. "Chiller Thriller" race at Mercer and an early season Stateline win. More success would come with victories at Marion Center and other tracks. By mid to late season, David and Rick both decided they were ready for change and parted ways. As David was facing the end of the season to be run on his own once again, he was contacted by Dan Moore, a fellow car owner David had known for some time. With Dan looking for a driver & David looking for help to keep his "Slow Ride" on the track, the 2 joined forces and finished the year strong. The team picked up more feature wins including a dominating performance at a M.A.C.S. event at Hilltop Speedway. David started on the pole and led the entire 50 laps with ease. The season ended with 10 feature wins.

2008:
The team is readying a pair of 2007 Rocket chassis powered by Craiger aluminum racing engines for the 2008 season. The plan is to run large purse paying events while running different sanctions including World of Outlaws, Lucas Oil Series, U.L.M.S., IRS, and M.A.C.S. series races. The team is looking to run many televised races to help gain sponsorship so they can continue their winning ways and move to a higher level.
